Hoopers Loop, founded in 2019, was created to meet the needs of female-identifying student-athletes (Hoopers).
Basketball is more than just a game, it’s a vehicle that has the ability to teach us about ourselves, it’s a place where we can express ourselves, dream big, and either leave or stay within the sport better than when we first picked up a ball.
At Hoopers Loop, we value providing access to Hoopers across Canada through our programs and initiatives. We centralize our connections online with opportunities for in-person events.
Founded by Wumi Agunbiade, Hoopers Loop was created to provide female-student athlete’s with everything she wished she had as a student-athlete from middle school to university. Wumi’s passion for basketball, self-discovery, and community have been woven within the fabric of HL.
Our goal is to equip program participants with a broader perspective and a community that supports growth, connection, and feeling a sense on belonging so they feel ready to navigate whatever is next in life.
Wumi not only earned a division 1 NCAA scholarship to then play professionally, she has also coached at every level including in the G-League. Her education consists of a BA in Psychology, an MBA, Certification in Specializing in Mindfulness Meditation, and all her gained wisdom over the years along her journey that she has funneled into Hooper Loop.
“Basketball is an incredible teacher of life. Hoopers Loop is a platform created to explore where the game can take us and how to become the best versions of ourselves.”
